With a wide experience as an advocate, Julian now specialises in civil litigation and employment law. He became an Associate with Meares Williams in the 1990s, was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales and practiced for several years with a firm in London's West End. Julian became a partner of Meares Williams Lawyers in 2008.

Julian has specialised experience and interest in litigation concerning commercial entities, building disputes, estates, negligence, insolvency and relationship property. Julian was recently appointed as counsel to assist the Court in contested proceedings under the Protection and Property Rights Act 1988.

Recent projects include:

• Appearing as counsel in High Court proceedings and arbitrations involving commercial leases, enforcement of agreements for sale, severance disputes and caveats
• District Court, Family Court, Employment Relations Authority appearances
• Hearings under the Resource Management Act 1991
• Appearing for national charities in proceedings under the Family Protection Act 1955.
