Kate Warren

Kate joined Meares Williams in January 2016 and graduated from University of Canterbury in April 2016.

During her time at Canterbury University, she was a member of a small group of law students, who worked in conjunction with Community Law Canterbury to establish and develop a Tenancy and Housing clinic on campus.   Kate was also selected to assist Nigel Hampton QC to prepare four cases for private prosecution.

Following her graduation from Canterbury University, Kate has continued to volunteer with the Prison Information Service.

In 2014-15, Kate was one of two New Zealand law students selected to participate in the David Teece Congressional Internship Program in Washington D.C.  Kate worked in the office of Congressman John Lewis, a Democrat and well-known civil rights activist, representing Georgia's 5th District.

Kate was admitted to the Bar in July 2016.   Kate is now studying towards her Masters of Law, focusing on the areas of insurance, commercial and land law.

Kate has a strong interest in Litigation but is keen to develop in all areas of legal practice.  She will work between our Christchurch and Rolleston offices.

In her free time, Kate enjoys horse riding and racing a Modified Sprint and a TQ Midget at Speedway.
